This October, we had one of the events I had really looked forward to. Krysten and Charles got married on October 13 with a ceremony and reception that really was a reflection of the two of them!
The grove by the Audubon Tree of Life was the location for the ceremony and it was the perfect setting. The ceremony, officiated by Rev. John Zimmer, was sweet and funny at the same time. You can tell that this family as well as the couple really do enjoy each being with each other. This pic of the bride and her father is one of my favorites.
New Orleans is full of majestic trees and this was just one of those.
Throughout the ceremony, there were many special moments between Krysten and Charles. This photo captures what it's all about. Sometimes as an event planner,
Following the ceremony, the guests got a treat as they were picked up by the Audubon Zoo train to transport them into the zoo to the Cajun Ballroom (Swamp Exhibit). I truly can't explain the uniqueness of this venue if you haven't been to the audubon zoo, but we were surrounded by the animals and exhibits and the Alligators live right next door to the ballroom.
We kept the decor, by Bella Blooms Floral, as authentic as possible while also trying to make it special. One of the hi-lights was the Zydeco band (T-Canaille), whom the bride and groom have seen many times together in the Quarter. They were a great fit for the night. At one point, the Groom joined the band to play the "spoons."
At the end of the night, the couple made a grand exit and the guests rode the train back to the Zoo Entrance. To put the icing on the cake, both Krysten and Charles' teams had a "W" on the night of their wedding. (Charles is a life-long Mississippi State fan and Krysten is a loyal LSU Tiger).
